What is the glycemic response to the primary ingredients in Zollipops and Zolli Ball Popz, isomalt and erythritol?2021-05-21T08:57:14+00:00

We have included information and facts about the primary ingredients in Zollipops and Zolli Ball Popz, isomalt and erythritol, from leading institutions.

Plant based ingredients, isomalt and erythritol, have some the lowest glycemic response of any non-caloric sweetener available, as shown below. This allows Zollipops to be Keto, diabetic friendly and vegan.

Glycemic Response Table

Please see Penn Medicine for how to calculate net carbs (for diabetes care or Keto diet).

Isomalt works like dietary fiber. Like the dietary fiber in green beans, onions and various types of fruit, ISOMALT belongs to a group known as ‘low digestible carbohydrates’. These low-digestible carbohydrates help keep us regular and can help to stimulate bowel activity and aid regularity. Like with e.g. plums, excessive consumption may have a laxative effect. Just as high-fiber foods, the regular consumption of ISOMALT in moderate amounts is tolerated very well and helps maintaining the balance of the digestive system. For more information about isomalt, read this PDF.

In clinical trials of Zollipops, total bacteria in the oral cavity and bacteria that can contribute to cavities was reduced, and no contraindications were observed – that is no tummy troubles!

My dog ate Zollipops — what should I do?2020-09-20T16:19:21+00:00

If you suspect that your pet has eaten a Zolli Candy (which contains xylitol), please contact your veterinarian or Poison Control Helpline (800-222-1222) immediately, as they can properly ascertain if your pet is in any danger.

Do not induce vomiting or give anything orally to your dog unless specifically directed to do so by your veterinarian. It is important to get treatment for your dog quickly, as some dogs may already be hypoglycemic, and inducing vomiting can make them worse.

Along with many foods that should not be given to dogs (alcohol, avocado, caffeine, chocolate, chives, dairy products, garlic, grapes, hops, human medications and vitamins, macadamia nuts, onions, raisins, sugar, tobacco), Zolli Candy is intended for humans and should not be given to dogs or other animals.

How much xylitol is in each pop?2022-08-05T03:48:43+00:00

Our recipe is a closely guarded secret! But Zollipops contain a proprietary blend of erythritol and other smile friendly ingredients and through their unique and delicious delivery system help raise the ph in the oral cavity after a meal or sugary snack. Zollipops have been studied to show efficacy and no contra indicative effects. For further information, please contact us at support@zollipops.com!

Why is pH and alkaline balance important?2020-09-20T16:19:09+00:00

Alkaline balance is very important to oral and bone health. The human body’s internal environment remains alkaline, with a pH just above 7.0. Our enzymatic, immunologic, and repair mechanisms all function their best in an alkaline environment. Despite this, our biochemical functioning, the metabolism of food, and many other fundamental life processes all produce a great deal of acid. Sugary snacks can increase acidity in our bodies and mouths.

Dry mouth can also accelerate tooth decay. Dry mouth is more common as we age, or can be a side effect from some medications. Zollipops can help increase production of saliva and reduce dry mouth.

The unique formula in Zollipops®, Zolli Drops®, and Zaffi™ Taffy helps reduce acidity, neutralize your mouth’s pH and may reduce the risk of tooth decay, dental caries, and the future development of cavities. Best yet, not only does your mouth feel cleaner and healthier after enjoying one of our treats, it’s actually measurable! But don’t take our word for it, take the ZP Challenge!

I have heard that I should NOT brush my teeth immediately after a meal, is that true?

2020-09-20T16:19:02+00:00

Although this may be surprising, it’s true! We recommend you brush your teeth at least twice a day. However, if you brush too soon after a meal you can scrub away tooth enamel that becomes softer in the acidic environment created in your mouth when you eat. Brushing too much, too hard, or with a hard-bristle brush can also erode your enamel. The unique formula in Zollipops helps reduce acidity, neutralize your mouth’s pH and may reduce the risk of tooth decay, dental caries, and the future development of cavities. Enjoying one after a meal or snack helps neutralize acidity in your mouth and gives teeth the time to re-mineralize. That’s why Zollipops is The After You Eat Treat® for a healthy smile!

If I have a Zollipops®, Zolli® Drops, and/or Zaffi® Taffy do I still need to brush my teeth?
2020-09-20T16:18:30+00:00

Yes, we recommend you brush your teeth at least twice a day. However, if you brush too soon after a meal you can scrub away tooth enamel that becomes softer in the acidic environment created in your mouth when you eat. The unique formula in Zollipops, Zolli Drops, and/or Zaffi Taffy helps reduce acidity, neutralize your mouth’s pH and may reduce the risk of tooth decay, dental caries, and the future development of cavities.

Enjoying one after a meal or snack helps neutralize acidity in your mouth and gives teeth the time to re-mineralize. That’s why we call our candy The After You Eat Treat.

In addition to brushing your teeth, we recommend that you:

  • Floss daily
  • Eat a healthy diet and limit between-meal snacks
  • Replace your toothbrush every three to four months, or sooner if the bristles are frayed
  • Schedule regular dental checkups
  • And, of course, enjoy a Zollipops®, Zolli Drops®, and/or Zaffi™ Taffy treat after meals or sugary snacks.
Can I give Zollipops®, Zolli® Drops, and/or Zaffi® Taffy to my dog or other pet?
2020-09-20T16:17:07+00:00

No! We love our furry friends, but say no to Fido or any pet when they try to sneak a lick. Zollipops are for people NOT pets. Like chocolate, xylitol can be toxic to dogs. Please do not give our treats to dogs.

Why are Zollipops® flat disks and not round like other pops?2020-09-20T16:22:45+00:00
